Petrus Hermanus Nel (known as Pierre Nel) was born on 30 October 1992 and grew
up in a small forestry town called White River in Mpumalanga. He is currently a singer-
songwriter living in Cape Town, South Africa.
He recently qualified as a medical doctor at the University of Pretoria where
he spent 6 years working on his music career behind the scenes. His first
single (Al Waarvoor Ek Leef) is to be released early in 2017.
Pierre Nel uncovered his love for music when picking up a guitar at the age of 13 and
immediately began writing his own music. He matriculated from his high school
(Uplands College) in 2010 with academic honors and was awarded as the Dux Pupil
in his year.
The following year he started with his medical studies in Pretoria but never stopped
writing music. He released a single “Kan Jy Bybly” to the album Tekno 2 in 2014 which
kick-started his collaboration with the talented producer Ferdinand Skead – the producer
of his new EP track.
Pierre Nel currently works as a medical intern at Tygerberg Hospital whilst simultaneously
kicking off his new music career in association with Nuelight Productions.
